| Euglena Academy’s Adaptability Project invites you to a First Friday Networking, Educating, and Potluck Social. The Event takes place, Friday, March 5, from 6 PM to 10 PM, at Euglena Academy, 151 Cleveland St, Ste 1, Eugene. Directions: http://www.euglena-academy.net/contact.phpFirst Fridays at Euglena are an extension of Euglena’s Adaptability Project. The Adaptability Project is ongoing exercise in the application of knowledge (and hopefully wisdom) to our current and future circumstances with respect to climate change, peak oil and other large scale issues facing humanity today. Navigating our ever-changing social, economic, and environmental landscape will require sharing a multitude of perspectives and skills - and we believe that everyone has something to offer. We've created an environment within which everyone can step up, fill in gaps in their understanding, and contribute what they know to the community at large, thereby strengthening our collective base. The March 5 event will feature Urban Garden Company, who will be presenting “Garden Carts for Climate Change Adaptability.” Home-based food production not only grounds and enriches one’s life experience, it is also an adaptability strategy for creating community resilience in times of tough economics, climate variation, and oil depletion. Garden carts, sized for the urban environment and doubling as bicycle trailers, are one tool for enabling some degree of independence from global food and fuel insecurities. Proceeds from garden carts ordered at the March 5 event will go towards funding Euglena’s Adaptability Project. To learn more about the Adaptability Project, see http://www.euglena-academy.net/ap_project.php |
